Over the years I've had the same epiphany many times, and it got cemented into my thinking more and more each time.

That the TINIEST of things influence your life greatly.

I used to be very ... reductionist. To me everything boiled down to the basics, I was deconstructing reality and looking only at the "core" of something. But that was very very wrong.

I'm saying this because nofap's changes are in fact very very small, but they mean EVERYTHING. You won't notice the difference, ever. Not even on nofap for 1 year. But just after ~5 days, the effects are there, they're working. The butterfly effect has started to compound in your life.

In other words, nofap influences subtly the way you think and more importantly feel about things. And the way you feel is everything, brain chemistry is everything when it comes to what you do and how you see and interact with the world.
