Whose NEETdom is mostly driven by mental illnesses here? For me it's most of the reason why I'm a NEET. It's depression that almost made me fail getting a degree in my major on the last semestre. Depression kicked in really bad at that time even though I had it for years. It's now cripling and makes me forget words, have problems with counting in my head etc. So I have:

- Crippling depression
- Sever social phobia and all kinds of enxieties
- OCD
- Adaptive disorder
- Possibly autism/assburger for which I will be tested soon probably

I took a personality test and it really shows how mentally unstable I am:

So what mental illnesses do you guys have?

One psychologist I visited as a teenager diagnosed me with schizoid personality disorder, yet I believe the qualities he used to make the diagnosis can very well be a part of a healthy soul. Perhaps I am in denial, who knows.

I take medication against depression and anxiety, I don't know my diagnosis. I'm supposed to go see my therapist but covid and I don't trust them anymore.

I have Schizotypal personality disorder. I have flat emotion responses and have weird paranoid ideas about things and I don't have any close friends outside of my family. This also comes with excessive social worry about things which make it hard to do good at school, let alone a job.

i don't know about any specific diagnosis, i was in a mental hospital for 9 days earlier this month. i was very reluctant to give any information to the doctor there. apparently i was having an episode of major depressive disorder, he wrote me some shit which i didn't take when i got home. one was to help with alcoholism, which i didn't even pick-up from the pharmacy because the tablets are huge and i'd have to take 9 every day fuck that jfl

I have my fair share of diagnosed mental problems. Feel no need to share them right now.

I love grannies and BBWs, if that's a mental illness, so be it.

I think mental "illness" is bullshit attention whoring and nothing else. I never take it seriously and never will, self-diagnosing is even more pathetic because there's nothing wrong with you and you try to be a victim.

Most people here, I'd imagine. Something like a fifth of Americans experience "mental illness" at some point in their lives, iirc. I don't really see any use in categorizing someone's subjective states in terms of "sick" and "healthy", though. Whether or not my mind and behavior has been categorized according to a psychiatrist's criteria doesn't matter to me.

I've been diagnosed with schizoid personality disorder, but didn't really receive any treatment for it. A psychiatrist tried to treat me for generalized anxiety disorder, but I quit treatment as I wasn't getting any improvement after over a year of treatment. There's probably much more as I feel like the specialists I went to weren't that great and rushed diagnosis. I can definitely see the schizoid personality, although I wouldn't be surprised if I'm just on the autism spectrum.

Maybe social anxiety if that's classed as being 'mentally ill'
