It depends. When it comes to meeting people day-to-day or people I'm not well-acquainted with I'll occasionally lie in order to protect my mental well-being (it has been mentioned here that wagies and normies tend to hate neets) as well as to save my time (by not having to answer their annoying questions and listening to their 'concerns' about how I am unemployed, etc.). In any other case (relatives, close acquaintances) I'll just tell the truth without a shame and maybe get into an argument... such a waste of time though. It's pointless to argue with most of the wagies as they have been indoctrinated by the society that you have to work and do all the other normie stuff.

This conversation rarely comes up since I rarely leave my room but I tell them the truth. My extended family all know I'm a NEET, I've never had anyone say anything belittling. They're jealous or indifferent, usually jealous. My dad likes to tell the rest of my family that I'm making up for the neetbux my grandfather never managed to get, he died just before he could retire.

Now that I think about it, my younger sister did once say I was lazy and a leech when she was angry at me, she intended it to hurt me but I told her that she'd be relaxing at home all day if she could as well and she was easily defeated. It's all about ones state of mind, if you view waging as something loathable and NEETing as the highest state then who can really insult you? It's like mocking a prince for being born royalty
