I tried to get into them recently, I bought GTA V and the longest I can play that is one hour as the boredom really gets to me. I also tried a couple of the Mafia games and also Watch Dogs Legion. I will always end up getting aggravated with them and slamming down the controller saying "I don't have the patience for this nonsense".
Having to watch these storylines in the games and follow instructions and look up the controller buttons is just too much like work for me. I actually felt like I was a wagie again playing these games, I couldn't numb my mind off and LDAR like a true NEET.
When I was young I used to enjoy kids video games like Rugrats search for reptar, Toy Story 2, Lion King Simba's pride, Bugs Life and Harry Potter Philosophers stone. I wonder if I should play these old kids games again, maybe I will enjoy the innocent stories unlike the degenerate storylines of these adult games. I still have my PS1 and PS2 but I think playing my PS2 will bring back uncomfortable memories of the mid 2000s, I had friends in those days and it will feel very strange going back to that PS2.
My only long term cope is TV, I can indulge for hours in a classic sitcom or a drama series. I can immerse myself in the TV shows in a way that I can't escape myself in these video games.
