afaik we are the only species that gets aroused by other people fucking (porn for example). i dont think its been observed in other species.
i never bought into the whole porn is cuckoldry meme but its weird, no? if another primate did this in the wild researchers would raise their eyebrows at it for sure.

well maybe its because we only watch porn through screens so it could be that. if people had sex out in the open like animals did then we'd just look away. if i ever came across a random couple fucking i'd leave because it would be awkward

I am willing to make the claim that the majority of porn watchers just do it out of boredom. They masturbate out of boredom, they're not even horny. Animals don't seem to get this sort of boredom like us.

I also don't get it. You are cuck if you jackoff next to fucking, but when it's behind the computer it's ok? Lesbians ftw, that's something I would jack off to even in front of them.

Human sexuality is very complicated to be honest. It is hard to compare it to the other animals, for many reasons.
Pregnancy is incredibly physically demanding, which creates a problem for mammalians: if the female were to be impregnated in the wrong time, such as periods of cold and famine like winter, the offspring is likely to die. The concept of estrous cycle solves this problem.

Unlike humans, most mammals are not horny all the time, they have periods where they'd have high libidos, and would breed only during this period. The timing is convenient for the survival of the offspring, and depends entirely on the animals' native environment. For the cats that live in Europe for example, they'd get horny and have sex during the spring, and after a 2 month period of pregnancy, they'd give birth in the summer, when it's the hottest and the food is most abundant. Heat is a crucial factor for the survival of mammalian newborns, us humans just take it for granted. Many kittens die from cold within a few hours after their birth if the temperatures are not high enough.

As you can guess, the duration and the frequency of the estrous cycle varies greatly among mammals, depending on the climate and the duration of pregnancy. Some animals have multiple cycles in a year, some only have it once a year, and I've heard that some have it even less frequently, like once every 2-3 years.

Only a few mammals lack an estrous cycle. The only one that I am aware of besides humans is the rabbits, however, notice what that results in. They breed anywhere, anytime, at very high rates. That itself can be an evolutionary adaptation for them, perhaps their ancestors lived in an area where both food and predators were abundant, so they had to continuously reproduce not to run out, that's just my idea about it though.

For humans, it's supposed that we had lost it during our course of evolution, and it was replaced by the menstural cycle. Why? There are many theories, you can come up with your own. I'll add my take on it, however it is not scientific nor proven, it just depends on my readings and observations:

First, pay attention to the breasts of the females. In all mammalians, humans are the only species that experience breast growth during the development period, before pregnancy. For all the other mammalians, the breast tissue grows only when the female is pregnant. This is an incredibly important point in my opinion, as it'd mean that breasts really do have another purpose, and that's to signal that the female is ready to conceive a child. For the other mammalians, that ''signal'' occurs at the beginning of the estrous cycle, and after pregnancy, it disappears, only to appear again in the next cycle. To me, this means that humans are meant to continously have sex, as even if the female could not concieve, as if she had just given birth and breastfeeding her child, she'd still have her sexual signals open. What'd be the cause of this? I think it has a lot to do with the male competition in this unique sexual system:

The more socially successful a male is, the more females he'd have. That's a recurrent theme in nearly all human civilizations. The females will always want to belong to the most powerful and successful man, conceive his child, and secure the child's future. In a way, they were happy to be a part of that harem. Hell, they'd even aim for it. That'd be the highest position a woman could achieve after all. And that'd require the female to signal that she's ready, every single second of her adult life, for as long as possible. So that she can enjoy the privilages of belonging to a powerful male. If it weren't for the complex human social system, that's simply be a waste of resources. But because of our social system, it's now a requirement.

All a female cat has to do is to release her scent, let the males gather and fight for her, breed with the winners and that's all. No need for extra show or attraction. It's all over in a certain period of time. For us humans however, sex shapes everything, as we could breed any time, any where. Our identities, words, choices and lives, are shaped by sex. We depend on it more than any mammalian does. I think this is why we are obsessed with porn, and it is absurd to imagine other animals participating in such acts.
