Is there a single selfless reason to bring a child into this world?

Reasons for people to have children

1. Curiosity
2. Someone to take care of them as they age
3. Loneliness/ companionship
4. Authority
5. Boredom
6. Peer pressure/ societal expectations
7. biological urge
8. Condoms breaking
9. Legacy
10. Status

Life isn't a gift like many like to exclaim with, there are countless people who wish they were never born. But on the inverse, literally no one cares about not being born, because they're in a void and don't have a consciousness at all.

Parents are not selfless in the least, they're all using you to complete a desire in themselves. Many people think mothers are selfless, especially incels, but they're not special. They're attached to you because you're a form of status to them, children are a product of their parents so of course they'll stick with you when you're a de- facto part of them.

Every moment a kid isn't born, there is 1 less unfortunate male that would've had to suffer for their entire lives, or 1 less female and normie to ruin the world further and harm others.

Only in extreme cases.
There was a woman raped while she was in coma at the hospital.
Idea was to wait for her to wake up and make a decision. Baby came first. By giving her abortion would have been immoral because without her consent it would be immoral. Even tho giving birth is wrong, by forcing her body to do anything without her consent would make them to participate to worlds misery.
I personally believe in freedom and open criticism. We can't say world is shit and be the reason why its shit. Of course we are not saints, but some thinking for own values helps.
This is very hard moral choice to rationalize.

You are joking right? 1/3 of the world population is starving. Only white people go extinct. Others breed like no tomorrow, Asian population is huge, also Arabs are gaining numbers fast.
There are everyday more rise in population and less consumers. Majority lives without electricity and clean water.

It's always a glass half empty glass vs full type situation with whether life is suffering. You can choose to accept & be grateful for the good moments or curse your existence.
I would have a kid, no hesitation if I could provide what I believe is a good life for him/her.

“If children were brought into the world by an act of pure reason alone, would the human race continue to exist? Would not a man rather have so much sympathy with the coming generation as to spare it the burden of existence, or at any rate not take it upon himself to impose that burden upon it in cold blood?”

If you have the ability to give your kids a decent life, then I see no reason to why you shouldn’t bring people into the world. But the thing is, most people can’t do that, either do to neglect or just passing on defected genes.
99% of people don’t have the genes nor the will to provide their kids with a good life, so having kids should be limited to those who are fit.

But that's just a primitive biological reason, what is the point of continuing to exist, just birth more slaves into this world for a pointless reason theory?

life is filled with pain regardless of how good you attempt to make it, everyone is faced with the inevitability of death at one point, everyone will feel pain, age, losing friends and family, and more.

And the thing is that it's easy as fuck to have your life turn upside down out of nowhere, all it takes to become paralised is to get your head hit hard, all it takes is a car/ bike accident to scar your entire face and even lose limbs, break bones.

From a philosophical and moral point of view, even if you could get your child to live a good life, it is still less moral than to not give birth in the first place. When someone isn't born, they feel absolutely nothing, they're not missing out because they literally don't exist, similar to how we felt absolutely nothing for 13 billion years before our birth.

What is point of living a good life anyway? It's just some dopamine that fires in your brain, and the good in life is outweighed by a ratio of 1 to 100, the brain itself is biased towards negativity too, you're much more likely to remember negative experiences than good ones (negativity bias iirc). Regardless of whether your child lived a good life, what's not to say that they'd grow into assholes and harm others? jfl

Having a kid is the most narcissistic thing you can do. That is why it appeals to women, rappers, and athletes so much.

Majority of people who grow old in first world countries, at some point commit suicide by refusing treatment. They are given a paper when they arrive at old people home, that asks how far do they want to go with medical operations and medication. Close to 100% chooses to be painless, rather than continue living.
Heavy medication without physical therapy kills very fast. Some rare people live up to hundred years old because they chose treatment. They usually end up bedridden, eating shit out of their own diaper since their brain has stopped functioning properly. They can also be in a vegetative state for over 10 years. Of course, once they lose their mind, children come visit only at Christmas or never. Usually stop visiting before losing their mom loses her mind. Luckily, majority of guys can die already in their late 60s or mid 70s.
After 35 you are still only halfway or worse.
So no, there is no point because every year you life is gonna suck more. If you want some sort of redemption, do something altruistic with your life.

We exist as species whether we like it or not, and our basic biological urge to breed will always be there as long as we exist. Because of that, the best way to tackle this problem is to be extremely selective on who can reproduce. What you’re saying is not practical, and can never be implemented. At least we both can agree that bringing kids to this world shouldn’t be treated as something routine, like eating.

Depends what you mean by selfless, but yeah, birth never benefits the person who is born.

The only reason i can think of is if you're wealthy, the kid would live in a luxury from early age and can build more wealth easily and become wealthier.
