Good luck man, I never tried straight edge razors. I'm using the Mühle R41 and R89 double edge razors for years now and am very happy with them. Make sure to soften your skin with hot water or do it after taking a shower.

Mirin, are the more expensive safety razors worth it? I am currently using cheap chink one.

In my opinion yes. They just feel better in your hand, its hard to describe. But of course they need to be loaded with the right razor blades.
