I’m barely a year out of high school and I’m already bewildered by my own generator. From new slang I’ve never heard of, to the latest hot topics and media I don’t keep up with, I feel like I’m being left behind. I was over hearing a conversation between my school age brother with his friends and I can barely understand half of what that nigga saying. Jfl am not even old, and I’m already feeling out of touch with today’s trends.

It goes back through this century. I would think it had something to do with the industrial revolution. In the fifties and sixties, the children were running so fast and so far from the traditions and foundations laid out by their parents. Drugs and jazz. As industry expands, so does our departure from what used to hold our social group together. Each generational subgroup holds disdain for every other subgroup. How can a clown world like that even go on?
