Let me start of saying the story about aluminum. At one point aluminum was more expensive than gold and silver. It was the most expensive metal in the world. Then scientists found a way to extract it more easily. Now aluminum is so worthless that you throw it in the trash can without giving a second thought.
How do you as a consumer determine if a product is worth it or not. Do you determine it based on current market conditions or on your believe on what it should be worth? Chocolate for the Mayans was worth gold but you obviously now pay close to nothing for a chocolate bar. Knowing scenario like this exist.
